INSTRUCTORS:

Sara Ross has been practicing macrobiotics since 1992. It has been a wonderful journey coupled with a strong yoga practice, weight training , Pilates, and other aerobic activity. She has won a silver and two gold medals in Power Lifting. In a past life she was a Certified Public Accountant from New Jersey. Her husband of 45 years, Bob keeps everyone laughing and joins her in eating well and working out.
          After practicing yoga for several years, she took an Anusara yoga teacher training. Her class is geared to helping students find a comfort level in taking care of their bodies, as well as gaining flexibility and strength in a fun and supportive environment.

Sean Gallagher, BFA, PT, CFP, CPT is one of the leading physical therapists in the world for rehabilitating dancers. Mr Gallagher was a professional modern dancer for over 10 years. He received his degree in dance and physical therapy at the same time from Temple University in 1986. Has masters in Clinical Nutrition from Bridgeport Universities Nutrition Institute. Became a certified Pilates Instructor as well as a Feldenkrais® practitioner in 1991 and a Pilates teacher of teachers in 1993. Sean is certified in Thai Massage from Wat Po in Bangkok, Thailand and has studied yoga with B.K.S. Iyengar in Puna India. He completed extensive studies in traditional Osteopathy from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and The Canadian College of Osteopathy. He is the founder of Performing Arts Physical Therapy and The New York Pilates Studio®. He has developed the in-house PT programs for The Juilliard School, S.U.N.Y Purchase as well as the Pennsylvania and Milwaukee ballet companies and The Paul Taylor Dance Company. Sean has been an adjunct professor for the NYU physical therapy program, Hunter College PT program, University of the Arts, S.U.N.Y Purchase, The New School, and has taught for The New York Pilates Studio®, North East Seminars and the Tri-State Institute of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture. Mr. Gallagher is currently an adjunct professor at Marymount Manhattan where he teaches anatomy, Somatics and Authentic Pilates® for the dance majors as well as for the body mind and science students.
          Sean has served as the in-house PT for over 130 Broadway shows, The Paul Taylor Dance Company, The David Parsons Dance Company, New York City Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Company and numerous other dance companies. He was the guest editor for the first Physical Therapy publication that specifically addressed the care and treatment of the performing arts through physical therapy intervention. Sean has also co-authored three books on or about Authentic PilatesTM and is currently writing a book on physical therapy for the performing artist. He has developed multiple courses integrating The Feldenkrais Method®, Injury Prevention, Self Care, Anatomy, and Authentic Pilates®. Sean is currently training in The Kushi Institutes Macrobiotic Leadership Program.
