Marketing & Development Assistant
The Marketing & Development Assistant is a live-on-site position or local Berkshire Resident, responsible for supporting all marketing and fundraising efforts for Kushi Institute to ensure optimal levels of public engagement, brand consistency, and donor stewardship. This position works closely with the Director of Marketing to plan and implement, comprehensive, integrated marketing and fundraising strategies that ensure professional, timely, and creative communications.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Marketing
- Develops and implements strategies for maintaining and improving program and event attendance.
- Helps oversee the branding of the organization in all promotional materials.
- Assists in the design and distribution of print and digital advertisements, listings, newsletters, and other promotional materials in line with the operational budget and program calendar.
- Familiarity with design software is a PLUS.
- Demonstrated experience with advertisement, e-marketing, and social media campaigns
- Working knowledge of website design and html is a PLUS.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Marketing & Development Director.

Development
- Develops and implement fundraising strategies in line with development income goals and time-lines.
- Demonstrated experience with fundraising campaigns
- Experience in donation processing, membership and corporate giving.
- Grant writing skills a PLUS.
- Comfort with developing donor and media relations.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Marketing & Development Director.

- Two years of higher education
- Strong writing and copy editing skills
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Demonstrated time-management skills
- Self-motivated
- Strong interest in cooperative living and community
- Strong knowledge and interest in learning macrobiotic cooking and philosophy.

- Professional demeanor and work ethic
- Ability to maintain positivity and composure under pressure
- Ability to handle changes in the work environment with ease

The initial commitment beings July 1st through August 31st.  Based upon performance, this position is an opportunity to be turned into a full-time paid staff position. We are seeking an individual to start ASAP. This is a 35-40 hour/week, residential position. Compensation includes one month credit for the Macrobiotic Teacher, Chef, and Counselor Training Program, housing at K.I. and 3 macrobiotic meals a day.

We are open to hiring two individuals to be dividing into separate marketing and development duties.

Front Office Assistant/Receptionist

This position is a full-time paid position. 35-40 hours/week.  Must be available to work weekend shifts.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
-Ability to multitask and excellent communications skills are essential.
-Outgoing, bubbly personality
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong computer skills (MS Word/Excel)
- Strong telephone etiquette, has a customer service mentality

Part-Time House Keeping Position

This position is for a local Berkshire resident looking for part-time work.  Must be flexible and willing to work well with groups and individually.  Cleaning experience is preferred but not required.
