Exploring the Mysteries of Life

A NEW Kushi Institute Weekend Workshop!

THE TEACHINGS OF MICHIO KUSHI!
With Edward Esko and Alex Jack
Friday April 25
to Sunday, April 27, 2014

Michio Kushi
Michio Kushi in London 1977

Beginning in the 1960s, Michio Kushi’s lectures on macrobiotics electrified an entire generation and gave birth to the natural food and holistic health movements.

This study of philosophy and teachings of Michio Kushi, presented by two of Michio’s senior students, will examine Michio’s brilliantly original lectures as the foundation for a personal journey of self-discovery. It will make use of rare, out-of-print archival materials including the Order of the Universe magazine and Michio Kushi Seminar Reports.

Students will have the opportunity to watch rare DVD recordings of Michio’s lectures (with commentary by Edward and Alex) and ask questions about Michio’s teachings on the meaning and purpose of life, as well as his timeless philosophy of health and healing.

Topics covered include: What is the purpose of life? How to discover your true self, How to achieve lasting health and happiness, Why is food important? Where do we come from and to where do we go?, What is the relation between mind, body, and spirit?, and How can we create peace and harmony in ourselves and in the world around us.

Core macrobiotic principles such as yin and yang, one-grain, ten thousand grains, the spiral of creation, the seven levels of consciousness, the seven conditions of health, and others will be discussed and explained. In addition, Edward and Alex will share unique anecdotes and experiences that reveal Michio’s enduring insights, plus his personal warmth, charm, and sense of humor.

Join us on this original journey of self-discovery! Active discussion, participation, and discovery are encouraged!
