Exciting changes at Kushi Institute
Thank you for your interest in, and support of, Kushi Institute. For thirty-five years, we have been educating thousands of individuals, families, and society as a whole toward the improvement of humanity and the realization of one healthy, peaceful world.
We close 2013 with significant staff changes. Olaf Fischer, executive director, and Mirea Ellis, administrative manager, resigned after completing many years of service to the macrobiotic community. Their dedication and hard work are deeply appreciated.
We enter into a new era with a dedicated Kushi Institute staff who is working with me developing exciting programs and special events. We are reaching out to build relations with local Becket and Berkshire communities, the world wide macrobiotic movement, the scientific-medical profession and other domains of society.
A new management team has been named and is already working actively to consolidate and expand macrobiotic education in 2014 and 2015. One by one, new programs and activities, including details of the new 2014 Summer Conference, will be announced on the K.I. website, Facebook, by email, and other social media.
The new management team:
- Alex Jack – General Manager
- Edward Esko – Education Manager
- Robert Watroba – Finance Manager
- Sherry Sanders – Administrative Manager
- Joel Liu – Food Services Manager
- Nancy Segal – Registration Manager
- Bill Shugrue – Store and Mail Order Manager
Alex and Edward have both worked with me for over 35 years, since the beginning of the Kushi Institute, and have taught and counseled at the K.I. for many years, as well as written and edited many books with Aveline and me. My wife, Midori H. Kushi, and I are confident they will help guide the K.I. into a bright new era. Again, we appreciate your continuous participation and support for Kushi Institute programs and activities. We hope you will continue to join us in building One Peaceful World.
